SHOW NOTES

Tom was one of the first guests on Stabbed Panda Presents, representing his band, DAFM. The Lightning Round in SPP is a very early prototype of what would become The Conversation Hat Podcast - KNOWLEDGE. If you're ever in Cambridge around the Christmas period you can catch the annual Christmas is a time to get F*CKED!! event, which DAFM are destined to perform. You can listen to that interview in full over here.

We liked Lauren's art work for this episode so much that we decided to add the icons to the podcast's Redbubble Store. This adorable chap is available on pillows, mugs, scarves, shirts, hoodies, phone covers, on art prints, bags, stationary and much more. Redbubble's merch is all reasonably priced and buying from them helps out the Conversation Hat as well. Which is, hopefully, something you're really up for.

Whatever you think is right! Also there’s loads of cool stuff you can only get here: www.patreon.com/conversationhat

If patronage isn't your thing, then maybe this is for you: Super Loot want to deliver a box of nerdy merch and geek chic to your doorstep each month, and will do so for £19.99, (you can get your first one for £15!) Take a look, right flippin' now. Please. www.superloot.co.uk/ConversationHat

If you'd like to learn more about milk, just without the three ill-informed idiots this time, you should check out this fact list on DairyMoos.com Here's a brief selection of the facts they have to offer: Julius Ceaser believed the Germans and Celts were so large because they ate meat and drank milk; Milk is the most hydrating beverage you can drink; Milk is one of the most nutritionally dense food stuffs you can buy;

SHOW NOTES

When asked, Holly was most surprised by Bioshock - a franchise which Liam & Laura have enjoyed in-depth, a few times over. Bioshock is a lore-rich franchise, taking place in an under-water dystopian ruin. We highly recommend Bioshock, Bioshock 2and Bioshock Infinite.

If you're interested in some of the other titles we discussed, please see the following links: Minecraft; Dance Dance Revolution (DDR);

Liam & Ben did, in the end, get round to playing some Hydro Thunder on PSOne. You can watch the entire thing unfold below, in all it's pixelated glory!

OK, so, that was quite a week. Right now we're stuck in hell, (yes, actual hell), indefinitely to work on Series 2 - ALSO! Thanks for sticking around for Series 1! What a wild ride. Season 2 will return in the new year, but remember to find us on Facebook and Twitter for updates and stuff in the interim.

SHOW NOTES

LukeCage.jpg

We talked about the music of Netflix / Marvel series Luke Cage, which may or may not have planned to include Prince at some point. This is a great series for music, not just in it's original score but in the lisenced music and live performances. Music.Mic have compiled a list of all the music used in Luke Cage which you can check out right here, at your leisure.

Liam's story of Prince and the penguin, (how is that not a children's novel?), was from the video below, in which Kevin Smith talks about his unreleased Prince documentary.

SHOW NOTES

latest.png

Here's some bonus knowledge about witches in the West Wickham area. During the career of the so-called witch hunter Matthew Hopkins, hundreds of people were accused of being witches across East Anglia including six from West Wickham. In 1645 Joan Beales, Mary Brame, Sybil Greene, Elisabeth Man, Isaac Stebbing, Mary Winter were all accused. It is not known what happened to them, but by the end of 1645, Hopkins’ Company had condemned at least 117 witches to death. The mid-1600’s was a popular time for witches, as nearby Ipswich had so many witches in their jail, they had to introduce a tax to pay the jailer over time. Thankfully, West Wickham seems to have been drama free lately, as evidenced by all the activity on it's Wikipedia page. Very much a one-duck-pond.

SHOW NOTES

It might be a bit messed-up to suggest we watch some Disney, given the context in which we discussed them today, but screw it! ... Or, don't!... Anyway... We pretty much covered all the bases with this film, but who do you like? Meg? Hercules? Hades? ... PHIL!?

#TeamPhil

We briefly dabbled in numbers today, but if you feel like you need more numbers in your life then why not check out this simple guide to Numerology? There are 24 numbers in this sentence, maybe you will be sent to prison for that many years for a crime you did not commit? Maybe not. That's how Numerology works, as far as I know.

Satan's Surname [Ep17, ft Shorty]

Shorty.jpg

n this episode we are joined by Shorty, who famously declares that he is not a Huguenot... Whatever that means...

We discuss our worst dreams, favourite childhood sweets, awful films and whether or not Satan has a surname. Liam takes on an entire musical genre from the 80's with a musical piece entitled Crappy Darkwave Band. I wonder which genre...

SHOW NOTES

There's a good few minutes of Spice Girl discussion in this episode, if you feel like you might want to refresh your memory a bit on the various Mels then grab yourself something from their back catalogue. Not that there's a current catalogue...

As mentioned, the film Sucker Punch was underwhelming at best. The soundtrack, however, was #amazeballs. Re-sampled Queen riffs in hip-hop, and cinematic renditions of White Rabbit? Yes please, on repeat, forever. Great score. Awful film.

Ben firmly believes that 2008's Funny Games is the worst film, ever. You can judge that for yourselves, but don't blame us if you can't deal. Eggs...

Llamas with Hats, by YouTuber FilmCow, is one of the funniest and oddest animations on the internet. There's about 12 episodes which you can find on his channel, which only get darker as you watch. Fun fact, Liam thinks he does a spot-on "Caaaaaarl!"
