The B Show - A Game To End All Games

The B Show - A Game To End All Games

A spoilerific episode in which Ben & Liam discuss, in detail, the new Marvel movie, Avengers: Endgame. We talk about deaths, character arcs, actor's contracts and much, much more. Suffice to say, if you give a damn about spoilers maybe leave this episode until you've seen the film, yeah?

The B Show - Any Good Books?

In this episode of The B Show Ben & Liam discuss books and authors they've enjoyed in the past and other's they look forward to indulging in. Liam reveals too much about his problematic brain, and Ben takes control of a book store.

The B Show - Poor Eating Decisions

In this episode of the B Show, Ben & Liam talk food: poor eating decisions and Gordon Ramsey is less than impressed by Ben's noodle.

Gaslit by LucasArts [Ep58 ft ReadyUp]

Gaslit by LucasArts [Ep58 ft ReadyUp]

Our guests this week are Susan and Stewart, 2 of the Ready-Up team - these guys regularly publish reviews, previews, lets plays and go live on Twitch.

In this episode we discuss the creepiness of Punch & Judy shows; games we’re looking forward to and alternate funeral ideas

What's Your Greatest Weakness? [Ep56 ft Ben's Dad]

Ben's Dad makes his seasonal return to The Conversation Hat Podcast to chat about lightsabers, crappy job interview questions and much more besides. Ben's Dad doesn't want to plug anything, he just likes having a chat.

SHOW NOTES

As briefly touched-upon in the podcast, lightsabers in the Star Wars franchise are powered by Kyber Crystals which also determine the colour of the blade. The crystals are harvested by young Jedi and the process turns the crystal to a specific colour. Sith and Dark-Side users, rather than harvesting the crystals in the "proper" way, will dominate them which turns the colour to red - hence all the evil dudes having red swords. You can read more about Kyber Crystals and much, much more Star Wars lore, (there's lots), over on Wookiepedia.

For music fans, we're updating the way our Patreon rewards work slightly - specifically the free music downloads. Anyone and everyone will now be able to listen to music from the show, (on SoundCloud, for example), but downloads will remain a patron-only reward. Log in to Patreon to learn how to access your downloads.

SHOW NOTES

This episode went out a few weeks earlier than it should have - we thought, rather than retracting and fussing we'd just embrace the mistake and have an episode released at a weird time! For those interested, this should have been episode 8 and would have been released to the public on June 24th. Oh well!

Mobile Mango Mogul [Ep49 ft Iszi Lawrence]

Mobile Mango Mogul [Ep49 ft Iszi Lawrence]

Comedian, historian and podcaster Iszi Lawrence is the guest on this week's Conversation Hat Podcast. We chat about places in the world we'd like to visit, technical time travel, discount mangos and how to get high like a Scythian. Apparently they were good at it.

A Lovely Poo [Ep47 ft John Wheeler, Hayseed Dixie]

In this episode of The Conversation Hat Podcast, we're delighted to have as our guest the frontman of bluegrass rock 'n' roll covers band, Hayseed Dixie. John Wheeler has sung, played guitar, (and other instruments), for the band's entire career. They refer to their style as "rockgrass", merging folk and country sounds in their renditions of classic tracks. We discuss the discomforts of camping and ask just what is Wally, ("Waldo"), hiding from!?

Weaponized Tiger Balm [Ep46 ft Dazz & Greg, DidYouKnowGaming?]

Weaponized Tiger Balm [Ep46 ft Dazz & Greg, DidYouKnowGaming?]

Today on the Conversation Hat Podcast we're joined by Dazz and Greg - 2 of the team behind YouTube's most-subscribed gaming trivia channel, DidYouKnowGaming?
We discuss games that did not live-up to expectations, invent animal-based weapons on the spot and pretty much ramble for a while.

The Conversation Hat Podcast – [Ep45 ft Dan Kirk, Local Distortion]

Today's guest on The Conversation Hat Podcast is Daniel Kirk, host of the Local Distortion podcast - a show which regularly features underground rock and alternative bands from Cambridgeshire and beyond. Kudos to Dan for pulling-off something which we know, from experience, is mega tricky. In this episode we discuss

The aim of Local Distortion is to promote and reignite the independent music scene in a way that is accessible for everyone and you don't have to be in the know to enjoy it.  You can (and should) watch Local Distortion on YouTube.

This episode features a sketch entitled The N Word - written by Liam, featuring him and Ben.

We tracked down the harmonica cover or Duel of Fates from Star Wars. It really is something special.
